Healing Through Dhikr The Power of Spiritual Remembrance
By Umm Sadiq
When my heart feels heavy, I turn to dhikr.
Not because it’s a ritual, but because it’s a lifeline.
💡 The mind overthinks, but dhikr calms it.
💡 The heart aches, but dhikr soothes it.
💡 The soul longs for something deeper, and dhikr connects it to its Source.
But for the longest time, I struggled with disconnection in my dhikr.
I would say the words, but my heart wasn’t always present.
Until I realised that dhikr isn’t just about repetition—it’s about deep remembrance.

How to Let Dhikr Heal You
✨ 1. Use dhikr as a reset button
The moment negative thoughts creep in, replace them with:
🌿 SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar.
✨ 2. Make it a heart practice, not just a tongue practice
Feel every word. Let it sink into your being.
✨ 3. Whisper it in moments of solitude
Dhikr is your private conversation with Allah. Let it be personal, raw, and real.
✨ 4. Turn everyday actions into acts of dhikr
🌿 When you’re cooking, say Bismillah.
🌿 When you’re walking, say La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.
🌿 When you’re in pain, say Ya Latif, Ya Rahman, Ya Rahim.
Dhikr isn’t meant to be compartmentalised—it’s meant to become a way of life.

Rumi’s Wisdom
"Remember, the entrance to the sanctuary is inside you."
Your peace is found in the remembrance of the One who never leaves.
